Posting from External Apps (API Access)
You can write and publish from your favourite text or Markdown editor on iOS and macOS by sharing a document to the RockOn Shortcut.
- Install the Shortcut (iOS/macOS only)
- Generate an API key below
- Paste your API key into the RockOn Shortcut
- Test by clicking the clipboard icon above any of your posts, then paste into your editor. Click/tap the share menu, then select the RockOn Shortcut.
API key is on your clipboard ready to paste into the RockOn Shortcut.
! An API key will only be shown once. You can generate a new key any time, but the old key will no longer be valid, and you will need to paste the new key into the RockOn Shortcut.
Notes: Android should also work using the Tasker app. Currently don't know how to do this on Windows. Contact support with questions.

Blog Title
The name of your blog
Blog Headline
This could be your name, or the name of the website, or a marketing headline
Blog Description
The blog description will be displayed below the homepage headline. It will also appear in the Explore section where people can discover your blog.
Submissions
You can accept submissions from writers who are not permanent contributors. You will see their submission listed at the top of your entries and can edit and publish from there.
Submission Guidelines
Inform writers about topics you are specifically interested in, e.g. topics or articles you would like someone to write. Provide minimum and maximum length of articles, and the username they should private message before submission.
Comments
Switch comments on/off for the Explore page. You can leave comments off here, but switch comments on individually for each entry/post. Or switch comments on here and you don't have to switch them on individually. This only affects the Explore page in the web app, not the static blog.
Contributors
Enter contributor usernames with an at-sign (like a mention), e.g. @jenny @leo @jon
Digital Garden
A digital garden is like an evergreen blog where the publishing date does not matter. The blog theme will not show dates on listings or posts.
Advanced Options
Custom Domain
Custom domain setup is not fully automated. You will need to contact support to complete the process. If you are familiar with DNS settings, follow the instructions below. Otherwise, contact support for help.
First create an A record for the custom domain pointing to 185.207.104.66. After that, contact support stating the domain name and the blog name.
Custom Homepage
Define your own homepage layout using HTML. For example, the homepage could become a landing page with a headline and newsletter signup form.

This HTML will be appended below blog posts, but not static pages (i.e. not an About page). It is primarily intended for mailing list signup forms or payment buttons.
Download Blog Archive
Creates a zip archive of the currently selected blog. It is in the format of Hugo CMS (https://gohugo.io). Files are deleted after 2 hours.
